  A colossus of engines New project and record realization for the Officina Meccanica Romea.

  The shipyard Officina Meccanica Romea of Giorgio Ferrari & C., that works from over 50 years in marine sector, it continues the activity of realization, repair, complete finishing of boats, engine, installation, up fittings of the inside, manufacturing of all equipments for fishing.

The company has always shown a strong sensibility to the problems that along the years have impeded the development of the fishing fleet in our area (Pila, Scardovari, Goro), problems tied up to the low shallow sea water, long distance to approach the work places more suitable for fishing, difficulties to enter in to the harbours.
The continuous search and the long experience matured in the marine field has allowed to install for the first time a new system of propulsion equipped with a double speed gear box that allows the using of power in best way under the different conditions of work, reducing the fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
A success this for the workshop of technician Giorgio Ferrari and a record not only in Veneto, but in whole Italy, because it is second realization to national level effected with two speed gear box of this type.

They have recently been realized, besides, two new prototypes of propeller, is able to work with the new system of gear box with more and more powerful engines. "I manufacture propeller since 1949" affirms Giorgio Ferrari, that together with his son Franco and other two daughters conducts the shipyard that counts 12 workers, since the first workshop was in Loreo yet where Giorgio uses to live. "I have worked in all Italy for the completion and finishing of the boats: Sardinia, Sicily, some anywhere on the Adriatic and Dalmatian coast, and in the near Chioggia, where we have proceeded to the repowering (with two Cummins engines of 1623 HP) of the "Destriero" ship with openable bottom coming from Hong Kong of the length of 60 meters.

The Romea shipyard that has recently launched a boat for the fishermen coop "rising" of Rosolina, has realized in these last time three new boats in fiberglass destined to the activity of the marine culture sold already finished and complete of winches in stainless-steel, with new system of winding for nets and cables "we are able to assure full service for every boat - explains the son Franco - and to provide repair for every type of engine, propellers, instruments and equipments.

We work on our projects, by our initiative and with instruments and tools realized by us. We have partecipated to different international fishing exhibitions, with equipments realized for boats, exclusively made by us.
We are able, based on the long experience that we have matured in this sector, to satisfy any application from our clients, we have created, for example, a propeller in stainless still with seven blades two-way, proper for satisfying particular demands in the sector of the bow and stern thrusters" the Officina Meccanica Romea affiliated to the coast guard and to the motorization department, is the only one workshop in Veneto region specialized in the manufacturing of propellers for boats, fishing boats, recreational boats, pusher boats, towboats, everything on owner projects, not standard. To follow this projects of the shipyard has been being present for the last eighteen years an expert technical called Doriano Duņ, further to an operational staff composed by Ferrari's family.
The Officina Meccanica Romea of Giorgio Ferrari has created and placed on side other two specialized companies to its inside: the Sea Italia srl, sales company representing Cummins brand worldwide leader for the manufacturing of diesel engines involved in to the sales of various components, and the Elic Bronz. snc .
For the planning and the realization of the propellers, of different types and sizes, the greatest till now realized and has reached two meters diameter.
